Sarteneja woman is latest Lotto winner

On Saturday, fifty-three year old Mirta Blanco, a resident of Sarteneja Village in the Corozal District, became the latest Lotto winner. Blanco, who has been playing the game since it started, says she never thought that one day her numbers would bring her so much cash, in this case, seventy-two thousand five hundred dollars. This afternoon Blanco told News Five that some of her winnings will be used to help the community.

Following Government’s fifteen percent tax deduction, Blanco takes home sixty-one thousand, six hundred and twenty-five dollars. The numbers that played for Mirta are seven, nine, sixteen, twenty and thirty-three.

In related Lotto news, there is still a jackpot waiting to be claimed. The winner of the June twenty-second draw of one hundred and fifteen thousand dollars has yet to come forward. That ticket holder has ninety days in which to claim the prize, and twenty-six of those days have already elapsed.
