Extraditions proceed against Brown brothers
Today in Magistrate’s Court Andrew “Papa” Brown came one step closer to a stateside jail cell as Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord ruled that the request for extradition by the U.S. government, supported by Belizean authorities, has now been properly placed before him. Brown will reappear on Thursday when it is expected that he will seek bail.
Things went somewhat differently, however, for Andrew’s brother Floyd. The issue here is one of identity as the U.S. warrant refers to one “Jaswan” Brown. A photograph alleged to be that of Floyd was introduced, but it was said to be lacking clarity. Magistrate Lord wil deliver a ruling on Floyd’s case prior to dealing with Andrew’s on Thursday morning.
The Browns are wanted in the United States on six charges relating to the 1999 importation of forty-two pounds of cocaine into South Florida.
