Fifty seven year old Ricardo Triminio, owner of Munchies Snack Shop on number ten B Progress Street in Orange Walk Town, was shot and killed in his place of business. Orange Walk Police were called out to the shop shortly before ten this morning where they discovered the lifeless body lying face up.
Supt. Dennis Arnold, O.C., Orange Walk Police
“Five shots appear to be on his body; one to the face; one to the chest; one to the left and right shoulder and one to the left arm.”
A family member says she heard shots but didn’t know it had hit so close to home. She says the shop would usually be open until late hours in the night. This morning they woke up to find a lifeless body and a bloody scene.
Voice of: Vivian Triminio, Mother of Murder Victim
“Yes, I heard some gun shots and afterwards I didn’t figure it was gun shots because there was light and so I figured it was something else. I got up and looked at the clock and it was two a.m. I went back to bed and that was it. When I found out was when I was sitting down talking to Mr. Melendez. The coke man came up and look through the window, apparently that is when he had ordered coke; I don’t know. So, he told him not to make noise; not to alarm me because the man is sitting down behind the counter. He opens late. He opens late at night because as you can see the front was still open.”

“Do you know if he had any enemies that would want to do this to him?”
“Huh. That I cannot tell you.”
After ten this morning, police were seen carting Triminio’s body out of the store. It was placed in the back of this police truck and taken to the morgue. The timeline of Triminio’s murder is still being pieced together. So, have the police been able to determine the time of the killing?
“Well, not as yet. The body was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital and the doctor had explained that it took place some ten hours ago.”
Reporter
“Before midnight you would say?”
Supt Dennis Arnold
“Around that time.”
So far there are no leads and police say nothing was stolen from the store. Recovered from the scene were five expended shells and four slugs from a nine millimeter pistol. Reporting for News Five, I am Andrea Polanco.
