Youth alleges he was kidnapped and sodomized

Police are looking for the owners of a red van bearing taxi plates following a report by a Belize City youth that he was sodomized by the driver. The fifteen-year-old boy, accompanied by his father, told police he and a friend were walking on Partridge Street around three on Wednesday afternoon when a van stopped and the driver offered them a ride. He says when he asked the man who he was, he claimed to be his uncle and so they got in. However, when the friend saw two other men in the vehicle he got frightened, jumped out, and ran down the street. The fifteen-year-old reports he was unable to get away and was taken to a house in Burrell Boom where the man who claimed to be his uncle sodomized him. According to the youth, the men then took him back to Belize City and dropped him off at the same location. Police tell News Five they are trying to locate the driver of the van and the friend who may be able to give them additional details. Other charges may also be pending against the perpetrator, such as kidnapping.
