Fourth victim dies in W. Hwy accident
A traffic accident that took three lives on the third of June has now claimed a fourth victim. He is Belize Defence Force private Eduardo Cus. Cus, who was a passenger in a B.D.F. truck that collided with a motorcycle on the Western Highway, was flown to Mexico City for treatment on June seventh. According to a B.D.F. release, Cus died while undergoing treatment for a broken arm and a broken and severely lacerated shoulder. News 5 understands, however, that he arrived at Mexico’s Central Military Hospital with badly damaged kidneys and a collapsed lung, which likely contributed to his demise. The final medical report detailing the cause of death is due to arrive with Cus’s body on Wednesday. Private Cus was a member of the B.D.F. volunteer Battalion based in Punta Gorda.
