M&M’s Engineering Robbed of Over $20,000 – Frederick Smith is Arraigned
Raccoon Street resident, nineteen year old Fredrick Smith was today arraigned for the May twenty-second armed robbery at M and M’s Engineering on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Last Friday around three-thirty in the afternoon, over twenty thousand dollars in cash and cheques were robbed from the company; the employees were also relieved of their personal belongings and cash. But quick response from police led to the detention of Smith, who was found in a room of an unfinished upstairs concrete house located at the corner of Pride and Grace Avenue. But late this evening, Smith was arraigned before Magistrate Ladonna John and was slapped with a total of six counts—five counts of robbery and one count of damages to property. Smith pleaded not guilty to the charges, but due to the nature of the offense, he was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until July twenty-eighth, 2015. Smith is one of two alleged robbers involved in the crime. Police say they know the identity of Smith’s accomplice, who remains at large tonight.
