Twenty-Four Hours Later: Another Body Surfaces in Roaring Creek Blood Feud
Steven “Deeds” Hyde
There is a third murder in the Roaring Creek area tonight. The dismembered body of fifty-one year old Roaring Creek resident Steven “Deeds” Hyde was found in a shallow grave at a farm belonging to Russell Hyde in Camalote sometime this afternoon. Police are not responding to requests for information, but News Five has been able to confirm that Hyde’s hands, feet and head were cut off and those body parts were found in the grave with him. This cruel murder is the second in similar fashion in a matter of days, and there is another eerie connection. Both men were very close affiliates of Russell Hyde whose common-law-wife, Roselia Galvez, was gunned down a little over a week ago. Steven, Russell’s cousin, actually lived with him on the farm where his body was found, and when he was last seen at five p.m. on Monday, that’s where he was heading. This evening, Hyde’s family was preparing a casket to bury his already decomposing remains when we spoke to his niece off camera.

“My aunt told us that he was missing. So we want in to the police station and made the missing person’s report. At the time doing the missing person’s report, we got the bad news that my uncle had passed away.”

“Have any of you guys, has the family gone to the scene?”

“No, we haven’t been to the scene, because the police brought his body out before we could have gone there.”

“Has police told you in what condition they found him?”

“They found his body with missing hands, missing feet, but they found all his pieces in a shallow grave already buried.”

“Now can you give me an idea. There was a murder; they found a body in a similar condition just yesterday. What’s the connection between the two men?”

“Well the connection there…Steven Hyde and “Dudes,” they were best friends and they were associates with Russell Hyde. At the time, they were hanging out with Russell Hyde.”

“Could you give me an idea of what the family thinks happened?”

“Well we don’t know what exactly happened, but all we know is that we will leave everything in God’s hands. We are not a family of revenge and there is a God above. At the end of the day, no matter what someone has done, they do have someone that loves them. And all I know right now is that I’m hurt so bad that words can’t even explain how I am feeling. God will give me the strength and give us the strength and we will deal with it; we will get through it.”

“Now people are saying that these two murders, the guy Madrid and your uncle are related to the killing of “Chu Chuch” a week ago. Is that the belief of the family as well?”

“No sir; that’s not the belief of the family any at all. We don’t know what exactly occurred or what caused the death, but we can’t say anything at this present moment.”
