Still No Charges in Roaring Creek Murders

Late this evening News Five confirmed that no charges have yet been laid against the three men detained as persons of interest in the two recent, bloody Roaring Creek slayings of Edilberto Madrid and Steven Hyde. Police at this time are awaiting some critical elements which they feel will enable them to close the investigation and lay charges as early, we are told, as Saturday.  The investigation is an intensive one, and today resulted in the arrest of a policeman who is known to be affiliated with detained person of interest Russell Hyde. This morning Police searched cop Brighton Fuentes in front of his home and found six grams of marijuana in his possession. Fuentes was arrested and charged, and pleaded guilty. He was fined only three hundred dollars, but as far as Belmopan Police are concerned his career in law, at least the right side of the law, is finished. He has been placed on interdiction and will be taken in front of a tribunal where a recommendation for his termination will likely be registered. As we told you, Fuentes is known as an affiliate of Russell Hyde.  News Five is informed that at least one, or all of the men detained will be charged and formally arraigned early next week.
