Belize City Man Charged With Indecent Assault

This morning, thirty five year old Kenrick August, a construction worker and disc jockey was arraigned in the courtroom of Magistrate Ladonna John on a single charge of Indecent Assault.  Allegations are that on March tenth, 2015, he entered the home of ex-wife while she was asleep. He jumped on top of her and began caressing her inappropriately. August pleaded guilty to the offense explaining to the court that he went to the house to see his children even though there is a protection order against him.  According to August, his ex was to withdraw the charge but that did not happen.  Magistrate John rejected his guilty plea and entered an equivocal plea of not guilty and remanded August into custody at the Belize Central Prison until August third, 2015.  In a report to police, his estranged wife claims that she was at home with her children when August gained entry into her room and began to sexually abuse her. When she screamed her uncle went to her aid and hit August on the head who then fled from the house.
