…And one of the gunmen also faces robbery charges
But while Young appeared in court this morning for Thursday night’s shooting, there are additional charges that he had to answer to—and this time, for the robbery of thirty-nine year old Egbert Tun. Young pleaded not guilty to the charge but due to the nature of the allegations committed with a firearm he was remanded and expected to return to court on the same date as the aggravated burglary charge. This incident occurred shortly after eleven last Friday night when Tun, who was socializing with a friend on the steps of Tortilleria Maya, at the corner of Water Lane and East Canal, was attacked by Young and one Antonio Soberanis. It is alleged that Young pulled out a nine millimetre pistol and pointed it at Tun while Soberanis searched him and stole his gold engagement ring and sixty-two dollars in cash. Police on patrol witnessed the crime in action and detained Young but Soberanis managed to escape and is still at large. The nine millimetre pistol with four live rounds was recovered at the scene and police are currently looking for Soberanis.
