Traffic stickers stolen from vault
An employee of the Treasury Department has been charged for stealing vehicle license stickers from the Treasury vault. Kenrick Sanchez appeared before Magistrate Harrison Hewlett today, pleaded not guilty to three charges of theft, and was granted three thousand dollars bail. The charges follow an investigation which began on May nineteenth when Accountant General Carmen Barrow discovered some five hundred license stickers had been stolen from the Treasury Department. Some of the stickers were found in Sanchez’s possession. News Five has been unable to contact anyone in the Traffic Department or at City Hall who could tell us if the stickers, believed to have been purchased by members of the public, have been declared invalid and just what would happen if a motorist was discovered to be displaying one on his or her windshield. The stickers are believed to have been stolen between January fifth and May eleventh.
