‘Maca’ Weighs in on Flippin’s Allegations

But will he really? Today we got a chance to ask former Dangriga Area Representative Ivan Ramos that question. And, of course, we had to ask about those allegations made by U.D.P. insider Melvin Hulse…the same allegations which his own Party…or we should say former Party…has said about him.

“Well as I had said before, I am out of it. that’s the reason why I am out of it. I don’t really care about what happened.”

“So I take that to be that you won’t be actively participating in this bye-election?”
Ivan Ramos
“I had stated that. I had stated that.”
Mike Rudon
“So as far as politics is concerned, you are out of it?”
Ivan Ramos
“I am out of it.”
Mike Rudon
“Sir there is a recording that has just been released from Melvin Hulse. One of which is saying that he knows for a fact that you received twenty-five thousand dollars—we know about that…it was the Petrocaribe monies for I think it was the mother’s day/father’s day program. But he is also saying that your brother negotiated on your behalf for at least a commitment or a payment of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Can I get your reaction on that?”
Ivan Ramos
“I think I had stated that none of that is true. It is now up to them to bring out the evidence since they are so convinced. What else can I say?”
Mike Rudon
“Alright, now. Your party, because you just really just left the P.U.P., the party is saying that this is somewhat of a confirmation to them, vindication of what they believe and what they have been putting out from the beginning. Do you feel a sense of almost betrayal from them?”
Ivan Ramos
“I will just say that that’s on them. On them to prove to whatever. They had said the same thing about Joseph Mahmud. I think they had said that he received one point five million [dollars]. I don’t know. I know I haven’t received any money from anybody for any such thing.”
Reporter
“Sir but here is a U.D.P. party insider saying that this has happened.”
Ivan Ramos
“But what can I say. I know nothing of the sort.”
Reporter
“Sir it has been put out there and we have to ask this question in terms of your personal finances. It was made public that your house stood to be repossessed by the bank. Sir, will we in the near future see that you are out of those financial troubles because of anything that may have happened financially, any movement?”
Ivan Ramos
“Well time will tell. You all will be the ones to come back and ask. I know that I have not compromised myself in that respect and I will continue to do everything in my power to deal with my finances. What else can I say?”
