P.U.P. Deputy Leader Says Flippin’s Resignation is Simply Damage Control
Hulse’s departure from U.D.P. politics comes in the wake of him making very serious allegations against his Party Leader and Prime Minister. Hulse was recorded while speaking at length about that corruption. He also insulted the Prime Minister at length, stating that his ego has caused him to lose his common sense. And if that wasn’t quite enough, Hulse accuses the PM of spending millions on things which don’t benefit the people, but only feed his arrogance. It’s likely that any one of those assertions by Hulse would have been enough to get him sacked. According to P.U.P. Deputy Leader Julius Espat, the ‘alleged’ resignation, retraction and repeated apologies are nothing more than damage control before the House meeting scheduled for Friday.

“I think it’s following a pattern under the umbrella of something called censorship. I’d like to read what censorship means Mike – it says censorship is the suppression of speech, public communication, or other information which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, politically incorrect or inconvenient as determined by government. That is where we are leaning and in this case we’re having one man creating this censorship upon us in this country. It is expected. The past honourable Melvin Hulse spoke his mind, he spoke the truth and he is being punished for it. We are proud within the P.U.P. that we can speak our mind, we can voice our opinions, and we can always go back to the table and embrace once again and work together. The U.D.P. does not have that option. I think you need to check the amount of people that have been removed in the past four months by the Prime Minister himself.”
In the resignation release, Hulse claims that he will now dedicate his time to making up with Prime Minister Dean Barrow.
What you said was accurate. Grow some balls and stand up behind what you said!
The people of Belize would have been better served if that money would have been spent on correcting some of the issues.
I’ve always looked up to Hulse he was known to be outspoken and speaks from the heart but lately am appalled by his actions. All these years in politics and this is how you go out? Are u serious? Cant even defend your own words? What a sore loser, your not even a man. A man is only a man of his word and clearly your just talk, guess you sold your soul already cause your clearly not a man of good character just another puppet that do as being told. The country would have respected you if you went out defending your words but now ure a little less than nothing.
