Tarique Thompson Succumbs to Gunshot Injuries After Monday Night Shooting

Tarique Thompson has succumbed to gunshot injuries he sustained on Monday night in Belize City. Around twelve noon today, the fifteen year old second form student of Canaan High School passed away at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after spending over three days in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. The teenager was walking on Lakeview Street heading to his home on Sibun Street when he was targeted by at least two men, one of whom was reportedly wearing a fisherman’s hat. Thompson was shot to the head and rushed to the K.H.M.H. where he remained comatose until this afternoon when he passed. Police had initially detained three persons pending investigation; the case has now been upgraded to a murder.
