2 Men Arraigned for the Murder of Hattieville Taxi Driver
Funeral services for taxi man, thirty-nine year old Patrick Dean Tillett was held at his home village of Hattieville earlier today. He was killed on Wednesday night as he sat on a cement block on Cairo Street in Belize City sometime after ten p.m. At least one man, brandishing a nine-millimeter firearm reportedly opened fire on the taxi man. One of the bullets penetrated his left arm and entered his armpit to puncture his heart. Tillett, who also known as Patrick Spencer, died on arrival at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
But the family might very well be getting some closure for the senseless murder because two Belize City youths have been charged and were arraigned this morning for the murder Tillett. Twenty-one year old construction worker, Cesario Choco, and nineteen year old stevedore, Charles Middleton, were jointly charged with the murder. The duo appeared before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September twenty-fifth, 2015. Tillett was the brother of missing Hattieville Chairman, Kevin Carcamo.
