Attorney Said Musa Says Gapi’s Credibility and Reputation Are Damaged

Gaspar Vega

Vega will return to court for the final day of the trial at ten in the morning, when witnesses on his behalf and on the behalf of the first and second defendants will be cross-examined. On day one, no evidence was presented in court that it was indeed Fiesta FM’s equipment that was used to air the recording. Today, Cervantes’ attorney, Said Musa, also went straight to the heart of Vega’s character, questioning his credibility and the reputation which he says was damaged. By all accounts it was a tough morning for Vega – so it must have been some relief when he was greeted outside the court by about one hundred supporters bussed in from his political constituency.

Gaspar Vega, Deputy Prime Minister

“They just came because they heard of the case…came to give some moral support.”

Reporter

“How does it make you feel to have them out here?”

Gaspar Vega

“Very special! I always say that God is always with me.”

Reporter

“And these people are from Orange Walk North?”

Gaspar Vega

“…From Orange Walk North.”

Reporter

“Will they be here the remainder of the case for you?”

Gaspar Vega

“I don’t know if they will be coming back. But I certainly will not be stopping anybody from coming. Whoever wants to come they can come.”

Reporter

“Is it something you needed?”

Gaspar Vega

“I always need the moral support of my people.”

Reporter

“Seeing as these people are out here for you…do you believe that your character has been damaged?”

Gaspar Vega

“Of course it has been damaged…I don’t know like I said earlier I cannot speak about the case because I’m still a witness so I cannot mention anything about the case.”

The case is expected to conclude Friday. Cross examinations start at ten.

no where in this story are the words from Said Musa, who said anything about Gapi’s reputation and credibility. ANother perspective, is that the poor people from OW North, would not charter a bus to come to Belize City to provide Moral Support….this was a paid crowd!!!

  3. Bmp Man says:

    @ Pueblo unido

Maybe its a paid crowd but the PUP cant even pay people to do anything for them.

    Think a bout that
