Resident of Armenia Charged for the Murder of Elderly Farmer in Paraiso
The badly decomposed remains of sixty-one-year-old Osmar Ramos was discovered inside a shallow grave on July fifteenth in a remote area in the Cayo District known as Paraiso. The elderly farmer, a naturalized Belizean from El Salvador, was butchered and buried in dense vegetation several miles outside the Mennonite community of Springfield. Ramos, it is believed, was the victim of a vicious chopping which succeeded an altercation with two men. One of those individuals is twenty-one-year-old Pedro Antonio Amaya of Armenia Village. Amaya has since been arrested and charged for the crime of murder. Ramos’ fetid corpse was exhumed by a taskforce made up of various units of the police department almost a month after the deadly attack. During that time his family was unaware of his absence and therefore was not reported missing. Neither were they aware of his demise.
