Tells P.U.P. to Get Ready for General Elections

Patrick Faber

You may have heard Minister Faber say that a U.D.P. National Convention is overdue, but they have agreed to wait until after the general elections. That’s another reliable indicator that elections will be called early. Since Faber enjoys insider status, we asked him. He wouldn’t give News Five a date, but he did say that the P.U.P. should get ready.

Patrick Faber, Minister of Education

“I think that everybody must be aware and everybody should know that it is within the prerogative of the Prime Minister to call elections early. And also it is that the United Democratic Party is not confused about who its leader is and what the leadership of this party is about, so we don’t see any need to rock the boat at this time, and it’s not a delay of democracy so to speak because there’s no clamouring for it. But we should be all ready for elections. Our Party Leader, although I am not privy to any thoughts in his head about the matter…it is a decision which he holds very close to his chest, but he can call the elections at any time. That is the way the system works. So my message to the P.U.P. is that you better be ready. You better be ready because it may well come. I am ready in Collet. I notice they talk a lot of nonsense about that area, and I see my former opponent Micah Goodin now giving the candidate who is there now serious hell. What a thing! But it doesn’t matter. Any of them that come we will defeat handsomely.”
