Mayorga Sought for Suspicion of Murder
There is still no word on the whereabouts of Ulysis Mayorga. The Honduran national is wanted by police in connection with murder of his ex-wife, twenty-one year old Merlin Mejia. Mejia was found dead in her apartment on Morning Glory Street on Wednesday morning with her throat slit in two places and a cut wound behind her ear. It is believed that Mayorga, who visited Mejia prior to her demise, was the last person to have seen her alive. Sometime on Tuesday night, he reportedly left the apartment with her four year old son because she was drunk. Hours later, around six a.m., Mejia’s body would be discovered inside her room; her son would be missing, but later that morning taken to his grandmother’s house. Since then, police have issued a warrant for Mayorga arrest and Interpol has been alerted. Deputy Commander of Eastern Division South, Senior Superintendent Alden Dawson, says that it is believed that Mayorga is still in the country.

“There is not much that I can say in respect to that investigation except that I know the suspect; the person of interest is still at large.”
Duane Moody
“Has any murder weapon been recovered as yet?”
Sr. Supt. Alden Dawson
“Like I said, I don’t know the depth of the investigation because it is being carried out by joint CIB in precinct one and two and they are doing some investigation.”
“That suspect, I know that a bulletin was sent out to all precincts at the borders and throughout the country. Anything with that? Has he surfaced?”
Sr. Supt. Alden Dawson
“Yeah, we have sent out like you said to all border points in all the districts and we even went further and went through Interpol to share it with our colleagues in other countries. So far we haven’t gotten any positive feedback but we are optimistic that we will find him.”
Duane Moody
“Is it believed that he is still in the country?”
Sr. Supt. Alden Dawson
“Yes there is reason to believe that he is still here, based on the investigators.”
