Youth Business Trust Belize launched
The Youth Business Trust, a worldwide initiative founded by the Prince of Wales, is launching its programme in Belize. Described as a private sector driven enterprise, the Y.B.T. has assisted more than sixty thousand young entrepreneurs in countries all over the world. A programme team has spent the last four months preparing for tonight’s launch at the Radisson. Programme Coordinator, Enrique Pech, says Youth Business Trust Belize will welcome proposals from young people and is also seeking professionals willing to be mentors.

?The aim this evening is basically to promote, to give publicity to the Youth Business Trust Belize Limited, which has been one of the objectives of the Youth Enterprise Programme that the Belize Business Bureau has implemented. We have initial founders which are Youth Start Plan, The Department for International Development from the British High Commission, and U.N.D.P. So the objective here is to create a viable, a sustainable Youth Business Trust that engages the private sector, primarily under the premise of corporate social responsibility, whereby we are giving back to the community and helping young people start businesses, something that we know will benefit the economy, given the present state of affairs of our nation.?
The Regional Coordinator for Youth Business Trust, Vivien Cockburn, will be the keynote speaker at tonight’s launch, which runs from six-thirty to nine. For more information, either on the youth enterprise aspect or to volunteer as a mentor, you can visit the office at sixty Albert Street in Belize City, telephone 227-1356, or send them an email at enterprise@youthbusiness.bz.
