Cultural day presents different view of Guatemala
There is a whole lot of good that takes place between Belize and Guatemala that we may not be aware of. That’s the word from the Belize Chamber of Commerce, which hosted a first of it kind cultural day to raise awareness about the activities going on between both countries.
Alyssa Noble, Organizer, Cultural Day
“Well today’s objective was to try to open the scope of our youths mind and try to get them to be a little more objective in terms of how they pass judgement on relationships and the actual activities that transpire between both countries. A lot of people tend to think that it’s only a territorial differendum, that we’re fighting all the time, and that’s not necessarily the case. There’s a lot of trade happening, there’s a lot of transboundary activities, and I think it’s just trying to bring that reality to mind.”
A similar exhibition will take place in Guatemala next month. The cultural day formed part of the Enhancing Commercial Linkages Project being implemented by private sector organizations of Belize and Guatemala.
