Brian Hyde Charged for Triple Homicide in Florida
Roaring Creek resident, nineteen-year-old Brian Hyde has been charged in Lee County, Florida for the triple murder of thirty-seven-year-old Dorla Pitts, her pregnant seventeen-year-old daughter Starlette Pitts and Starlette’s twenty-one-year-old boyfriend, Michael Kelly, with whom she shared an eighteen-month-old baby girl. Today, at a press conference held by the Lee County Sherriff’s Department, Lieutenant Matt Sands of the Major Crimes Unit reported that Hyde was charged with three counts of second degree murder and one count of death of an unborn child. According to authorities, the scene was violent, bloody and “most unimaginable.” While a motive has not been established as yet, U.S. authorities report that the three victims died from repeated sharp force trauma and that evidence showed that they put up a fight with their killer. The accused, Hyde, is the cousin of the Pitts and had been living with them at their home at Twenty-First Street South West, Lehigh Acres, Florida. Hyde was detained in Fort Myers after reports that he was recklessly driving in the area. During a search, blood was found on his clothes and he was driving without a license. He was arraigned in court on Wednesday for the traffic offense and was to be deported to Belize because it was later revealed that he was an illegal immigrant in the U.S. But now, Hyde is facing multiple murder charges. News Five has been following this incredible story and here’s this update from NBC-Two.
