Victim turns tables on burglar
A would be cat burglar is tonight enjoying the comforts of the Hattieville prison, thanks to the bravery of a Belize City resident and his alert neighbours. Around three on Thursday morning, fifty-one-year-old Henry Benguche told police that he was awakened by the sound of noise from the upper flat of his split level house on Croton Lane. Upon checking, Benguche said that he found a man with a flashlight in his room. With the aid of a machete and the assistance of neighbours whom he alerted, Benguche was able to detain twenty-six-year-old Edward Neal until police arrived. Once in custody, Neal, a labourer of Neal Pen Road, was promptly arrested and charged for the crime of burglary.
