Hulse Claims the U.D.P. is Victimizing His People

Just in case you missed it, that last shot from Hulse to his former colleagues was a not so subtle threat – coming from the belly of the beast, so to speak. According to the former very senior U.D.P. Minister, he has reason to be angry because his people are being victimized – and not only that…but they are being victimized to spite him.

“If you are not a key person in the Party, then you stop being a Belizean and you can’t and you can’t get any of the benefits from the Ministry and you can’t push for things. Some of the parents went to Ecumenical just last week…mein dih school deh tell dem guess what, all those of you all who were recommended by Mr. Hulse for educational assistance, well that cease. This is what was told to the parents, so some parents had to take out their kids. What I have discovered is that nobody cares about the message – let’s kill the messenger because we vex with the messenger. The messenger and we don’t have the same opinion. That’s bull-crap okay? So we’re getting less and less.  We got no Christmas Cheer. We got no Mother’s Day Cheer in Stann Creek West, because guess what man we noh happy with Hulse, so thirty thousand people, grassroots people, twenty-three villages – tough luck. I have a problem with that. I have an opinion. And if we disagree you are then ostracized, or you cease to be a Belizean. You go to the Ministry and because I am not active then that means that if I am following and trying to help grassroots people to get education or get their lease and land papers and title and get electricity expansion like we promised for umpteen year…no, no no you noh inna play. Weh you mean by play? If yu noh hold wah lee title dawg eat yu people. They noh deh get no help. And you iknow, everybody know, everybody who knows me, both sides know…Stann Creek is almost before me. That is my home and those are my people. I will fight, crawl and fuss with anybody who tries to spite and victimize them. I don’t flipping care dah who. And now they’re threatening the people – you mi get job under Hulse tenure so let’s fire you and put in somebody else. We deh talk about grassroots people. They done mek threats to the people working at the Agric Department in Stann Creek.”
