Embattled politician Dr. Marco Tulio Mendez was slapped with additional charges today when he appeared in the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court.  The P.U.P. Orange Walk East Area Representative was charged with carnal knowledge; adding to six previous charges, including aggravated assault of an indecent nature and common assault, brought against him back in February.  The indictment stems from allegations of sexual misconduct made against him.  Earlier today, he appeared before Magistrate Merlene Moody in the company of Senior Counsel Andrew Bennett.  While he did not offer much after the session, Mendez says he is both shocked and surprised at the additional charge.  Mendez is due back in court on October twenty-seventh.
