Ray Davis is No Longer Senator for Unions
Ray Davis is no longer the Senator representing the Unions. The decision was taken by the General Council of the National Trade Union Congress of Belize last week, but there was some contention from members who felt that Davis had not been afforded due process. Indeed, we are told that representatives of the P.S.U. and A.P.S.S.M. walked out of the meeting in frustration. Following that meeting president of the N.T.U.C.B. Marvin Mora explained that a definitive announcement could not be made until the N.T.U.C.B. membership had been brought up to date. Well, we are told that it’s now a done deal even if there are still pockets of resentment from those who feel that Davis was pushed out without just cause. That contention may find some focus on Wednesday, when we are told that the P.S.U. will be holding a meeting in Belize City to discuss the situation with former Senator Ray Davis.
