No Worries About Petrocaribe Debt Says P.M.
With general elections looming…less than six months away according to the Prime Minister, one of the Opposition’s main criticisms looks to be centred on Petrocaribe – or more accurately the Petrocaribe debt which is mounting daily. Still, while that is the focus of the Opposition, it doesn’t even appear to be on the Prime Minister’s radar…at least not for the next couple years.
Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“In terms of our Petrocaribe debt we are nowhere near the point where I have to start worrying about repayment, especially since some of the continuing Petrocaribe flows will be used to pay down the nationalization compensation and thereafter to buy back the Superbond debt. When we’ve done that, and that’s going to be a couple years in the future, if the program is still around, then we can look at how we deal with liquidating the Petrocaribe debt itself.”

oh my oh my, no worries he says…he doesn’t have to worry he is a millionaire…we the poor people have start to worry from now….
