Two deaths appear to be heroin poisoning
Anaphylactic Shock due to a massive overdose of controlled drugs. That’s the official cause of death given by pathologist Dr. Mario Estradabran, following autopsies conducted on the bodies of two men who died within hours of each other on Saturday at the Karl Heusner Memorial hospital. According to police press officer G. Michael Reid, the pathologist today removed forty-three sealed packages totalling three hundred and forty-two grams of suspected heroin from the intestines of forty-six-year-old William Usher, a resident of Hattieville. Reid says an additional six to eight packages are believed to have ruptured, causing the overdose. On Tuesday afternoon, Estradabran retrieved forty-eight sealed packages of suspected heroin from the intestines of twenty-eight-year-old Epitacio Navarro of Belize City. Three ruptured packages, believed to have caused the overdose in Navarro’s body, were also recovered.
