U.S. church worker killed in robbery
San Ignacio police have still not yet charged anyone in connection with the murder of sixty-three-year-old U.S. national Donald Kostecki. Kostecki, a deacon with the Sacred Heart Parish in San Ignacio, was found around eight Friday morning, lying near his pickup truck at his home in the Kontiki Extension Area of the town. The body displayed a large wound to the left side of the chest. Authorities say Kostecki’s pants pockets were inside out and his wallet and phone were missing which leads police to believe that robbery was the motive. A post mortem revealed that Kostecki died as a result of a shotgun blast that caused massive internal and external bleeding. One person remains detained in connection with the killing.
