Six Months for Yohannah Lourdes Quixote for Harm

Yohannah Quixot

A Salvadoran woman, who is the mother of two young boys, is serving her first night of a six-month sentence imposed upon her by Magistrate Ladonna John this morning. On Tuesday Lourdes Yohannah Quixote was arraigned on a single charge of Harm upon Nora Murrillo stemming from a fight which occurred on September nineteenth 2015 during which both women were injured. When Quixote appeared in court she accepted responsibility for her actions saying she got into the fight with Murillo in a fit of anger. After pleading guilty to the charge of harm, she was sentenced to six months imprisonment. Relatives and friends of Quixocte were upset when they heard the news of her prison time.  Murrillo has also been charged in court with Harm upon Quixote but she pleaded not guilty to the charge and was offered bail in the sum of two thousand dollars which she met and is due back in court on November twenty-third, 2015. Quixote’s common-law husband, Eliseo Sanchez, was also charged in court for harming Murrillo and he also pleaded not guilty but due to uncertainty over his immigration status, he was denied bail and remanded into custody. The Belize Immigration Department was called in to deal with his status.  He is also due back in Court in November of this year.
