Correction: minor cannot face death penalty

In last night’s newscast we reported that a thirteen-year-old defendant could, if convicted, still be sentenced to death by hanging. This is not true. We were referred to section one forty-six of the Indictable Procedures Act which clearly states that the maximum sentence for a convicted person, who was less than eighteen-years-old at the time of the commission of the crime, is life imprisonment.
