18-year-old killed in highway accident
A young man from Jalacte Village was killed on the Placencia Road Thursday evening. The driver of the truck, Ervin Odalgez of Seine Bight told police that he was two miles from the junction with the Southern Highway when he saw three people approaching on bikes from the opposite direction. He claims that one of them suddenly crossed the road and even though he hit the brakes, he could not avoid hitting him. He took the victim to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival. The young man was later identified as eighteen-year-old Jose Oh.
