Missing 4 year old found dead

The search for four year old Oscar Velasquez came to a dramatic and tragic end late this afternoon when his decomposing body was found inside a house within sight of where he disappeared on Monday. Residents of the Antelope Street Extension area who just one day earlier had joined in a neighbourhood search for the missing boy, gathered outside of number 7005 Antelope Street, as police began the work of trying to determine exactly how he died and who killed him. As he made preparations for a hasty burial, the child’s father, Jorge Velasquez, told News 5 there is no doubt in his mind that it’s a murder.

?Somebody killed my son though, because he was tied from his hands, an electrical wire was around his neck and he was upside down. He is already blown up. So I?m trying to get in a casket right now for them to carry him in to do a medical examination for me and make them look at this matter more further because this is not right. Somebody killed my son…murdered my son.?

?Because the owner of the house came to check on the house, like as usual they come to check on the house because she put it for rent. But it?s not on rent right now and the owner of the house just came to check on the house and they smelled something not right in the house so they just checked. He is in a refridge. Somebody put him ina the refridge. Somebody from…I no know. But somebody must have been playing with him and maybe they do him too much and they killed him and they ended up putting him in there.?

?It?s not that he was locked up ina the refridge and just stay in there and he couldn?t come out. Because he is upside down and he could have pushed open that refridge if he was just right there.?

Velazquez says that based on the condition in which the body was found, Oscar may have been killed the same day that he went missing. One of the first persons on the scene after the gruesome discovery was neighbour Cecil Martin, and he too believes that there may be a murderer on the loose in the neighbourhood.

But the nephew said no and when he gone and open the refridge that?s where he found the little boy decomposed body in there.?

?To be truthful that dah somebody put him there. That dah somebody put him there because he can?t get in there and children can?t put him in there and leave him that kind of way. So it has to be some adult around in the neighbourhood.?

At newstime the police were expecting the pathologist to arrive. It is speculated that due to the state of the body an autopsy would be performed on the spot followed by burial.
