Mother of Young Twins Perishes in Road Traffic Accident

A terrible traffic accident on the Placencia road early this morning claimed the life of nineteen-year-old Kyria Krystelle Campos, mother of three-month-old twins. News Five has confirmed that at around one forty this morning, twenty-year-old Giancarlo Vega was driving a PT Cruiser, heading home to Placencia from Orange Walk when he lost control of the vehicle between miles ten and eleven and slammed into the guardrail. That guardrail became dislodged and went through the windshield of the vehicle before emerging from the rear. Kyria Campos was in the front seat and was pronounced dead on the spot. Police on the scene told us that the twins were on the rear seat of the vehicle and seemed to have sustained only minor head injuries. Giancarlo Vega was conscious when assistance arrived, but today he is listed in critical condition in the K.H.M.H. His family is currently pleading for donations of blood for Vega and for his twin son Ashton, who we are told has swelling on his brain.
