Major marijuana plantation busted in O.W.
There are some very disappointed farmers in the North and South of Belize tonight, but hey, no one ever said that growing weed was anything other than risky business. Orange Walk police report that on Sunday morning they came across a marijuana plantation about a mile north west of Santa Martha village. We don’t know if the cops actually counted them one by one, but a release from the Police Department says the plantation contained an incredible fifty-three thousand plants. Also found on the scene were fifteen and a half pounds of processed weed. At the same time in Toledo, police discovered a much smaller field of ganja near San Pedro Columbia village containing six hundred and ninety mature plants. As is often the case with these discoveries, the cultivators were no where to be found, leaving the cops with the task of uprooting and burning the pot.
