Musa Has Choice Words for His Opponents

Musa’s hold over the Fort George Division will now be contested by two other persons—the U.D.P.’s Roger Espejo and the B.P.P.’s Rollin Powery, a newcomer to politics. The former P.M. says he has never really factored either of them into his campaign, but he did single out the current prime minister. And while Espejo is a non-factor, Powery has a police record.

“I have nothing negative to say about Mister Espejo. I wish him well, health-wise, but he will not succeed in this election—perhaps in many years to come down the road one day. He has been successful when he ran in the Belize City Council, but he is not ready. He is not ready.”

“And worse so the B.P.P. candidate?”

“I don’t even know him…some Rollin somebody. Where is he rolling? He is certainly not a voter or even someone to be campaigning in the Fort George division. I understand he has said some unkind things about me on Facebook. I will only say that if you live in glass house, don’t throw stones because he should know that he has a record that police are interested in. I say no more.”

“Why they should come out on November fourth and put you back in and by large the P.U.P.?”

Said Musa

“Well I think we’ve had enough of governance by one man, dictatorship in fact or certainly we are sliding into a dictatorship if the present trend continues. Let us vote for change; let us vote wisely and let us vote early and let us vote P.U.P. all the way—Power to the People.”

While Musa says he is not a person to predict numbers, he believes that the P.U.P. will have a majority of at least eighteen to nineteen seats, but he is hoping for twenty-one.
