U.D.P. Manifesto Covers All Bases
On Wednesday night, we brought you one aspect of the U.D.P. manifesto entitled, “The Best is Yet to Come.” That segment, handled by U.D.P. leader Dean Barrow, focused on public administration. But there was much more. That sexiness, as the U.D.P. leader referred to it, was announced by a host of U.D.P. candidates including newcomers Carla Barnett and Walter Garbutt.
Carla Barnett, U.D.P. Candidate, Freetown
“The next term will see investments increased in roads, bridges, drainage systems throughout the country…the funding of a transformation master plan to include ports and airports will set the stage for a major improvement in connectivity for the efficient and comfortable movement of people and goods. We will see investments in health, rural water and electrification and a massive investment in housing and education, while the productive sector can expect strategic investments to support growth in agriculture, tourism and services. Specifically, we will do the following – we will develop the Commerce Bight Port to support the productive sector. We will restructure the overall tax system to ensure equity and fairness in the collection of taxes and to encourage economic growth. We will put more people to work through job matching and training based on market demand.”
Walter Garbutt, U.D.P. Candidate, Stann Creek West
“Develop a modern mixed and commercial zone at the Lake Independence Boulevard junction in Belize City where we will construct government offices, a national bus terminal, headquarters for the National Bank, DFC office, Police and Fire Stations, A community resources centre and retail outlets…construct a new road to Lamanai via Bermudian Landing and Lemonal….pave the road to Caracol with two points of origin at Georgeville and Santa Elena…continue the paving of North San Pedro Road to the Basil Jones Airstrip on beautiful Isla Bonita.”
This manifesto covers all bases including the cost of more corruption for unqualified, incompetent bureaucrats , politicians afraid to show their hands or throwing their stones and hiding their hands, and family members of Barrow. Carla boasts a Phd, in economics but could not plan and implement any meaningful fiscal or social programs for the Belize economy. Whatever happened to the Horizon 2030 project as stupid as it was ? Karla like all those inept politicians , is just a lot of talk and paper bag filled with flatulent hot air.
Yes the best is yet to come fu real manifesto is we done learn how to thief openly and we can commit all the murders we want that’s the udp manifesto.
And all of this promises can be fulfilled with more debt to our Belizeans. That is the fascinating point. More debt means more power and ultimately that is the goal of this and any government. The CDB, IDB, WDB, ALBA Petrocaribe. They are all carefully planned instruments of power. There purpose is to strangle economies to the point that we have to be on our knees and be the servant forever. …
we elected the UDP not to take us to heaven but to save us from hell. Question is Have we been saved?
yes why not two,six years ago
why after this election.
Belizeans still fools ha ha ha.
