U.D.P. OW North Candidate Gaspar Vega Says He Will Be Victorious
All the hype surrounding the campaign of Ramon Cervantes Junior does not downplay the challenge that he will be facing on November fourth. His extremely formidable foe is a three-time winner in the area and a force to reckon with. We couldn’t catch up to Vega on the campaign trail but we did run into him at the launching of the U.D.P.’s manifesto. He’s confident that when the last ballot is counted he will be far ahead of his opponent.
Gaspar Vega, U.D.P. Candidate, Orange Walk North
“I think you can walk in my villages and see where the flags are. I have promised that I will not be putting flags on the lampposts. I leave those free for my opponent. I put my flags on people’s homes and that shows confidence in my people.”
Mike Rudon
“What are the issues that come up as you go house to house?”
Gaspar Vega
“Well they would like to see more transformation, more paving of streets…more drainage. We all know that drainage is a big problem throughout the country but especially in my areas. But like Trial Farm, we’ve put in probably about three hundred culverts in the last seven years and we probably need a couple thousand, but it’s an ongoing thing. We usually try to ensure that whatever investment we make we do it properly, we consult with the residents. Basically that’s what they’re asking, more…more of what we’re doing now.”

“Sir is there an additional burden on you? You are the boss of the north for the U.D.P. It is perceived that you have the responsibility for delivering the north for the U.D.P. You failed to do that in 2012. Will you deliver on it in 2015?”
Gaspar Vega
“I am certain that the northern region will do better than we did in 2012.”

“Right now the P.U.P. has five of eight. After the election how many will they have?”
Gaspar Vega
“They won’t have as many as five.”
When you are talking about North, you are talking about Uncle Benji’s turf. There is a huge blue wave sweeping across the northern part of Belize.
There is no way, that we Vega is going to win this election. What has the man done lately for Belize? Get engulfed in a very nasty and scandalous murder accusation hearsay.
You know the way we think up here in the North, if da no so, da nearly so.
If belizeans vote for a murderer I will give up on my people belizeans make sure you don’t vote for a corrupt murderer and thief.
I’m with you on that, but look it took them seven years just to put down three hundred culverts.
so how much more years will it take them to put down the next two thousand or so more
culverts down , an other 100 + years or so while they packet getting full and our’s stays empty.
wake up BELIZEANS don’t let politicians take us for a ride, only them getting rich and enjoying the riches of the country.
