Employees Walk Off Job at Museum of Belize

The Museum of Belize was closed for business today, and it isn’t a public and bank holiday. We’re told at least twelve members of staff just did not show up for work, and credible reports are that they are angry at Director of the Museum Sherilyn Jones. Those reports indicate that frustration with Jones has reached the point where employees have met with President of NICH Diane Haylock and demanded action. We’re told that when action was not forthcoming, the staff decided to stay home to send a message to Haylock. We’re not sure if she got the message since she’s allegedly down in Punta Gorda campaigning and service is iffy. There’s also no word if employees at the Museum will be reporting for duty on Monday.
