Sights and Sounds of festivities from Garifuna Settlement Day
Dangriga is the koltcha capital of Belize and on Thursday it lived up to its name for Garifuna Settlement Day. The activities started early morning with the re-enactment of the arrival of the Garinagu to our shores back in 1832. The official ceremonies took place later in the morning which then gave way to a parade through the principal streets of the town. The traditional Garifuna cuisine and the constant drumming and dancing punctuated the festivities. Here are the sights and sounds of some of the activities that took place on Thursday.
