Honduran national charged with Aggravated Assault of minor

In court news, it’s a disturbing offence that has become all too common and tonight one more person is behind bars for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor. The victim in this case is only two years old while the accused is a twenty-seven year old Honduran national. George Gutierrez appeared before Magistrate Rachel Montejo this morning and pleaded not guilty to a charge of Aggravated Assault. But bail was not granted because Gutierrez is considered a flight risk since his immigration status is uncertain. Gutierrez has been remanded until August twenty-fifth when he is to return to court. The charge related to an incident on July first when Gutierrez was cutting a yard in Burrell Boom. One of the child’s relatives reported to police that when they went into the yard, Gutierrez was allegedly kissing the baby inappropriately on the chest area.
