Deadly Accident Claims Life of Emmerson Burke
A deadly road traffic accident this morning along the Southern Highway has claimed the life of forty-four-year-old Emmerson Burke. Shortly after six a.m., police were summoned to an area between Bladden and Medina Bank known as Machaca Creek where they saw Burke lying face up on the ground about eight feet away from the driver’s side door of a black Toyota Tundra which had crashed into the guard rail on the left hand side of the road in the direction of Punta Gorda. Burke’s body was seen with injuries to his right foot which was crushed as a result of the impact. Burke’s body was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately eight-thirty.
