C.E.O./Receiver Tux Vasquez Runs into Trouble with Guatemalan Immigration
The C.E.O./Receivership at the Port of Belize, Arturo Tux Vasquez was away in Guatemala during the negotiations, but remained active throughout. He was part of a delegation from the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry that met with their counterpart in Guatemala. But on leaving Guatemalan today, Vasquez got into some trouble with immigration on the Guatemalan side. On a previous trip to Guatemala back in 2011, his passport did not contain an exit stamp. But with the intervention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the situation was cleared up and the penalty fine was reduced. Vasquez is now back in Belize.
Imagine, for a stamp not in a passport, Belizean get into trouble, but they can come here and do what they want.
