Beating victim dies of injuries
On last Wednesday’s newscast we reported on the injuries suffered by forty-five year old Hugo Silva who was found beaten and unconscious on Marine Parade on Boxing Day morning. No one was arrested for that crime, which has now been upgraded to murder. Silva succumbed to his injuries on Monday at the KHMH and thus becomes the victim in Belize’s first homicide for 2005. According to our unofficial records 2004 recorded eighty-one murders compared to sixty-five in 2003.
