So sad, because this is a tourist place more security needs to be in place, especially at night. People want to get away, and relax, not go somewhere and be attacked. Local government, get your act together, too much bad publicity is not good for the country.

This is sad and should never happen to anyone any where in the world but unfortunately visitors to America, Europe and else where in the world also do have these same terrible experiences; it is not only in Belize. Let’s not bash our little country just yet for this one violent person that should be caught, prosecuted and locked up!

We live a different world now we need to be smart! There is no way I would be walking on the beach anywhere in the world after midnight on a beach.

I hope it all ends well and bad for the criminal!

  5. Disgusted says:

Belize is becoming a joke and disgrace when it comes to crime, the GOB must put more training and resources into our police force and follow through with convictions; the same thing is happening in Hopkins, muggings, stabbings, home invasions, multiple break ins, over 10 in past three months a picture of three criminals in the act of the crime was given to the police two weeks ago, the thieves are known and absolutely nothing has happened except finger pointing..visitors have left and tourism bookings are down and the victims get blamed for “having too much” after they ste warmly invited to come to the jewel..it’s a disgrace that is going to destroy jobs and lives
