15 month old dies in accident in La Democracia
Belmopan police are investigating the tragic death of fifteen-month-old Samuel De Jesus Rivera of La Democracia Village in the Cayo District. Around three thirty on Sunday evening, young Rivera, who was home at the time, was playing with other children under a shed in the yard that housed a large butane gas tank. It is not clear exactly what happened but authorities say the boy’s mother, twenty-nine year old Claudia Moya, a Guatemalan National, told them that the tank fell over and landed on top her son. Rivera was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
