O.W. police officer missing for 8 days
The Police Department is holding its collective breath as tonight one of their own has disappeared without a trace, and foul play may be involved. Thirty-seven year old Morris Martinez, a constable attached to the Orange Walk police station went missing last Wednesday evening after going off duty. In a press release today, the department says its investigations have revealed that Martinez was last seen at a bar in Orange Walk on Wednesday night and that he left the establishment in the company of a woman. Both then left by car and headed towards Corozal town. Police initially believed that P.C. Martinez was simply absent without leave, but they have now radically changed their thinking. Martinez’s companion has been located and is now being questioned by police. Martinez’s car was found at a house in Corozal, but police say there was nothing unusual about that discovery, since he was in the habit of leaving his car at that location. P.C. Martinez is a veteran of fourteen years in the department having enlisted in 1986. He left the force for a short while and then re-enlisted two years ago and was posted in Orange Walk. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Police Constable Morris Martinez is asked to please call the nearest police station or Crimestoppers at 922.
