Two in custody for Cayo murder

Two men have been detained for the murder of a Cayo youth that occurred late last night. Around nine this morning, San Ignacio police came upon the body of eighteen year old Maxidonio Castellanos lying on the ground behind Santa Elena’s library. The body had what appeared to be several stab wounds to the neck and chest that police believe were made with a broken pint bottle. But who would want to kill Castellanos? Authorities say the deceased was no stranger to the law, with a reputation for involvement in the drug trade. Police say investigations reveal that on Wednesday night around midnight, Castellanos became involved in a misunderstanding over drugs with two other young men whom they believed killed him. Police say the pair were taken into custody and will be charged with the murder.
