Mum’s the Word on San Ignacio Police Station Rape Incident

As we get set to close up shop and head into the Christmas holidays, there is no significant update in the alleged rape at the San Ignacio Police Station. Four days ago a woman who was detained at the western station told police that she was raped at gunpoint by a Police Constable who removed her from the detention area and took her into a dark room. Since then commanding officers at that precinct have refused to comment, but we managed to confirm that an investigation into the very disturbing allegation had commenced. While the alleged rapist was reportedly detained immediately after the accusation, he was subsequently released, though we have been unable to verify if he is on any form of suspension or interdiction. Last word to us today is that police have been trying to conduct an identification parade, but have been having trouble locating the victim. Again, that is largely unofficial because officers at the San Ignacio Police Station have gone into silent mode.

The victim has been in contact with the police EVERY day since her release from the hospital. The victim is available, the police are saying that the accused officer isn’t cooperating. That is as of yesterday, 6pm
