Elderly Statesman B.Q. Pitts Passes Away
Tonight, we record the death of a notable personality. Former Attorney General, Bernard Quentin Augustus Pitts, popularly known as B.Q. Pitts passed away over the holidays from complications due to cardiac illness. Pitts served as AG during the period 2010 to 2012 following an amendment to the constitution which removed the requirement that the attorney general be a member of the House or Senate. Prior to that appointment, BQ was House Speaker under the U.D.P. Administration from 1993 to 1996. In his private capacity, he was the senior partner in the law firm of Pitts and Elrington. In life, he was married to Valda Icene Pitts; he was the father of nine children. An official funeral is to take place in the next few days. B.Q. Pitts, dead at the age of eighty.
